Principal's Message

 2019-2020 School Year

Hello George Key Friends & Families!!!

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the new Principal of George Key School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich tradition of excellence!

I have been dedicated to the field of special education for fifteen years, and have worked in a variety of capacities. I started as an instructional aide in special education and was a classroom teacher. For the past three years, I have been working with the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District as a Program Specialist in the Special Education Department, and this last year I was given the opportunity to be the Coordinator of Venture Academy. Last summer, I was the Principal for part of Extended School Year and had the wonderful opportunity to meet many of your students.

I am very passionate about education and working with students with special needs. I look forward to partnering with you to provide our students with a rigorous, engaging, and high-quality educational experience. We will continue to focus on supporting each student in reaching their potential through a comprehensive curriculum with a heavy focus on communication, independence, and life skills; in a safe, nurturing and collaborative environment.

Along with the rest of the teachers and staff, I will continue to support the caring and nurturing legacy of success that has been established by George Key School. Together we will continue to build strong relationships with parents, students, and community partners.  I am eager and excited to start the 2019/2020 school year as your partner in education.

As your Principal, it is important to me that everyone (teachers, paraprofessionals, students, and parents) who steps through our doors are excited to be here!  This positive attitude will enable us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and engaging environment.  My door is always open, and I welcome your input.  Please feel free to call, email, or meet with me to discuss any ideas or concerns you might have throughout the school year

I am looking forward to leading and learning together as a community.

Warm Wishes,

 Kelli McFedries
